"Back" from Staycation.

We are "back" from staycation.  As much as you can be back without going anywhere.  My husband had five days off and we planned on visiting family.  We had made plans a month ago to stay with a family member, but we were the *last* to know that family member's plans changed, and there was still no resolution less than 48 hours before we were to leave, so we declared a Staycation.

I sat down and made a list of everything we might want to do.  The things we didn't get to do were in Pittsburgh as well as watching the new Star Wars movie.  (Not that I cared about that but my husband does!)

Some of the things we were able to do were:

Find composition books for 5 cents each.  We bought 88 of them to give to a school that has over 80% of the student body living in poverty.

I got my 2016 record planning book bound.  I didn't realize until recently that office supply stores will spiral bound things for you.  It was under $4 and was exactly the way I wanted it.  I plan on blogging about it soon.

We did some road trips.  We went to the Wheeling WV Oglebay Festival of Lights.  We also did some thrift shopping in Pennsylvania.

The only family we are going to be able to spend time with are my dad's sister and her husband.  We went out to dinner with them over the weekend at a West Virginia State Park.  Good food, and even better company.

I received a notification of a newly published geocache, so we were the first to find.  There was a $5 bill in it as a first to find prize.

SLEEP!  I had told my husband all I wanted for Christmas was to sleep an entire day.  I think that is what happened on Saturday.  We woke at 1:30, and went to bed by midnight and took a nap.

I feel rested, but it seems odd that the rest of the world is gearing up for Christmas when ours is over.
